Climate Change, Hunger and Poverty

HIV/AIDS, growth and employment in Africa

HIV/AIDS has had a devastating impact in Sub-Saharan Africa. 68% of all people infected with HIV live in this region, 90% of all infected children are African and 77% of all people who died of AIDS lived in Africa. It is generally recognised that progress on gender equality is necessary in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. DOWNLOAD

While 75 per cent of the world’s poor live in rural areas in developing countries, only 4 per cent of official development assistance goes to agriculture. DOWNLOAD
