I have deliberately avoided putting all the blame on the girl child as far as their sexuality is concerned because in most instances they dont go out with guys of their own age. It is the older men who have cash to splash around who I believe have the biggest hand in spreading HIV/AIDS. I believe that if men dont prey on girls several years their juniors, the level of infection in the younger age groups will fall but this will be difficult without cultural reorientation. I was priviledged to have lived in a multiracial society during my infancy and one thing I observed, African men seem to beat white men in having casual sex maybe because African men left their wives to look after the rural home while they stayed alone to prey on young inexperienced girls in the farming community I grew up. I have also been working at a university for almost five years now and one observation is a good percentage of female students are the free willed type but again they choose older working class men over the younger penniless male students. I think the best way forward in compating HIV/AIDS is to work on how to change social perceptions on our sexuality. We definitly have to open up and remove the stigmatisation of HIV/AIDS nowadays that medicines to prevent the onset of full blown AIDS are found at relatively cheap cost. But both men and women have to work together to creat an HIV free generation. I think that can be achieved but it begins with the youth!
