Greenhouse gas mitigation

I have heared so many times that Greenhouse gases are the single most important causes for global warming. there is also one fact that the contribution Africa , in terms of the emmission of such gases is insignificant. African countries being developing and,its economy is predominantly agriculture- based . ,there is hardly any sourse of greenhouse gases other than agriculture sector, this sector is by far the largest source of methane emmisions in most of african countries, folloewd by the energy sector resulting from fossil fuel use.i can say that the emmission from the other sector is negligible . The point that always wonder me is that in africa the agriculture sector is the cause for the emmision of one of the greenhouse gases ,and this sector is also the most affected because of the variability in the climate and rainfall,as it is clear that most of the agriculture in africa is rainfed. the life of millions in africa is depends on this sector. therefore i suggest that ew should implement those options which could have twin objectives that is sustainable economic development and mitigation of GHG ,like the using renewable energy ,improving forest management practice i firmly belive that a lot of work has to be done on forest management practice , since it has a wide spectrem benefits , like in terms of inhancing siks. most imporantly we africans should focused on local climate change that has contributed directly or indirectly for gobal warming .
