What is a free and fair election
Did you follow the past Presidential elections in Sierra Leone? Here the election was won by the opposition and as soon as the results were read the former Vice President Solomon Berewa who ran on the ticket of the then rulling party called the winner and congratulated him. If that is what you refer to as free and fair elections then welcome to Sierra Leone for some best practices.
However the then rulling party blamed the UNDP, DFID and other international missions and organizations for implementing what the refer to as a REGIME CHANGE agenda. They claim to accept the result because they are a peaceful party and would not do anything that will promote violence.
A violence free election was not achieved by magic but by the sustained efforts of youth leaders and youth servers.
